The annual Dublin Core conferences bring together leading metadata researchers and professionals from around the world. DC-2008 in Berlin will be the eighth in a series of conferences held previously in Tokyo, Florence, Seattle, Shanghai, Madrid, Manzanillo, and Singapore.

The nternational Conference on Dublin Core and Metadata Applications is organized jointly by the Competence Centre for Interoperable Metadata (KIM), Max Planck Digital Library, Göttingen State and University Library, the German National Library, Humboldt Universität zu Berlin, and Dublin Core Metadata Initiative with sponsorship from Wikimedia Deutschland.
